Chiropractic Found Me

I have to admit, I didn't always dream of becoming a chiropractor.  In fact, I didn't know anything about chiropractic until I was in my early twenties.  I've always loved animals, so as a child I dreamt of becoming a veterinarian.  As I grew older, I realized that being a vet may not be what I was called to do.  It was, however, my love of animals that lead me to chiropractic.  You see I began riding horses at the age of ten.  Later, when I went to college, I dabbled in the lively game of polo.  Needless to say, I had many falls and countless whiplash injuries in my young life.  This lead to headaches... a lot of headaches.  I didn't think much about them because Advil always did the trick.  Then one day a friend of mine told me that having headaches 3-4 days a week isn't normal.  Who knew?!  She recommended I see a chiropractor, and I wisely listened to her advice.  Fast forward a couple months and my headaches were gone!  Not only that, my energy levels were up, my concentration was better, and my overall balance and coordination improved!  My life was changed for the better, and I just knew this is what I needed to do for other people.

My Background & Education

I have another confession.  I am not a native Texan, but I got here as soon as I could!  I actually grew up in the suburbs just west of Chicago, Illinois.  My family did, however, spend two glorious years in Dallas/Ft Worth when I was in elementary school.  Those two short years made a huge impression on my family and I.  We all eventually made it back to the great state of Texas.  I moved back in 2007 to attend Texas A&M University.  There I received my Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Science.  Then I headed to Dallas to attend Parker Chiropractic University where I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic.

While I was in chiropractic school I became amazed with all I was learning about the human body.  This led me to specialize in prenatal and pediatric chiropractic.  What better example of how awesome the human body is than growing a brand new life?!  So I joined the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and became certified in Webster Technique.  (Webster is the chiropractic technique used for pregnancy).  I also trained as a labor doula and volunteered at a local maternity home.  In my last year of chiropractic school, I had the opportunity to finish my internship at a wildly successful prenatal, pediatric, and family-focused practice in Longmont, Colorado ran by two expert chiropractors.

After graduation in 2014, I spent three years practicing in Austin and Houston where I was able to continue focusing on helping pregnant mommas and their little ones.  In 2017 I was recruited to work with the leading prenatal and pediatric chiropractor in Raleigh, North Carolina.  I spent a year soaking up all the knowledge and experience I could before my husband and I realized how much we missed our home state.

We moved back to Hutto, Texas in early 2019, and it feels so good to be home.

Why I started HomeBody

I saw a need.

A need to spend adequate time with my patients, and a need to make chiropractic care more attainable.

I would hear over and over again how stressful it could be just to get to appointments -- herding the kids into the car, then fighting traffic to make it on time.

On top of that I was limited in how much time I could spend with patients.

So I decided to create an opportunity.  An opportunity where my patients could receive quality chiropractic care in a relaxed and comfortable environment at a time of their choosing.

In my spare time

Family is the most important part of my life!

I have the most amazing husband, Ricky, two of the best step-children I could ask for, Georgia (14) and Jack (11), and my three adorable rescue pups, Lucho, Thor, and Chiquita.

I am one of 5 siblings, and Ricky is one of 10.  Collectively we have 32 nieces and nephews!  So when I'm not with patients, I'm spending as much time as possible with our HUGE family!
